Jan Patience, 'Review' (The Herald, 21/02/2009)
Brussels-based Jimmy Robert is one of France’s most exciting emerging artists. In recent years, the 34 - year – old has exhibited to critical acclaim at the 5th Berlin Biennale; Cubitt Gallery in London; Neuer Aachen Kunstverein in Germany; CAC Bretigny in France; and Diana Stigter in Amsterdam. A fairy straightforward description of his work is that he “addresses the fragility of representation through photography, performance and film”. He will be exhibiting two and three-dimensional work incorporating “found and personal photographs, sculpture and drawn elements”.
